Biography

Dasha Shkel (Daria Shkeleva) is an interdisciplinary artist and curator based between Istanbul, Sofia, and Berlin. She explores the many relationships between technology, culture, and society; her method — is a new method every time, from immersive socio-cultural experiments to live audio-visual performances. Her fields of engagement span from science art and media art to immersive practices, live audio-visual performances, and socio-cultural experiments. She curated many cultural projects and exhibitions, among which are The 2019 Festival of Lights (Saint Petersburg), Science Festival 2018 and 2019, ArtAntarctica (Saint Petersburg), Artefaktura exhibition (Saint Petersburg), the re-exposition at The Museum of Literature of the 20th Century (Saint Petersburg). As an artist, she participated in many exhibitions,festivals, and fairs, such as Todays Art Festival (The Hague), BIT (Milan), In Science Festival (Nijmegen), Die Wahrheit (Berlin), Affordable Art Fair Hong Kong, Art Week (Rome), Art Basel (Miami). Daria also had a number of solo exhibitions, for instance, at Gallery D.O.T. Berlin (Germany), State Museum of Urban Sculpture (St. Petersburg), Art Center Nevsky 8, Lumiere Hall Multimedia Museum, and more. Her works can be found in many private collections, including the private collection of His Holiness Sitagu Sayadaw (Myanmar). In 2023, she joined TAEX as Curator.
